Tempe Essell – Treasurer

Tempe Essell, a graduate BS from Northwestern University, retired to Palm Springs in 2017. Tempe had a successful career as a retail buyer for Marshall Fields and the Dayton Hudson Corporation. Tempe also had a second career as a small business owner. Tempe started visiting Palm Springs during college. Palm Springs was in her blood as her great grandfather was one of Nellie Kaufman’s many guests. He later built a home in the Mesa area. Tempe served on the Board of Tandum Family Resource Center,a non-profit organization located in South Minneapolis that serves Women and children in crisis. Tempe also volunteered at Open Arms, an organization that prepares and delivers nourishing meals to critically ill Minnesotans and their families in need - 100% free of charge to clients. Tempe was looking to find new ways to volunteer after moving to Palm Springs. Tempe is her HOA president. She is President of the Women’s Golf Organization of The O’Donnell Golf Club and serves as a trustee as well. Tempe serves on the Board of the Riverside Red Cross. Tempe became involved with the Historic Tennis Club Neighborhood Organization 5 years ago. Tempe co-chaired the first Modernism Home tour with Raymond and continues to serve as Volunteer Coordinator for the tour. When not volunteering or playing golf, Tempe and her husband John of 32 years enjoy entertaining, traveling and their new granddaughter.
